Job Summary:

Assists Security senior leaders to ensure proper operation of all IT-based security systems. Ensures that records and documentation for operation, testing, maintenance, and repair of devices are complete. Ensures that equipment and devices are in compliance with SSM Health and Security departmental policies, plus any federal, state, local, or other jurisdictional agencies regulations. Coordinates, maintains, and supports relationships with local and regional system integrators, SSM Health Integrated Health Technologies, service providers, plus other departments. Assists the Security Department management team in the development of officer standards, training, and competencies in the operation of security devices and equipment.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with Facility Planning/Construction, Plant Operations and Director or designee to oversee system project though all phases from conception through completion including; pricing, preparation, cost/budget, and inventory tracking for projects. Communicates with affected departments and reviews all plans, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documents in support of assigned security projects.

  • Maintains good working relationships with installers, vendors, consultants, and designers plus other departments to promote the flow of information and coordination of any project(s) with Security Department management team.

  • Assists the security department leadership in recommending, coordinating, and overseeing upgrades, modifications, repairs, maintenance, policies and troubleshooting of security devices/equipment with Integrated Health Technologies, Facility Planning/Construction and Plant Operations as needed and witnesses device/equipment testing to ensure compliance with specifications and operating criteria.

  • Assist with development and recommendations for training and competencies for security department employees in the use of security devices/equipment. Directly responsible for the training of departmental Super Users.

  • Remains educated and in touch with new trends and developments in the security device/equipment market place. Assesses, evaluates, and makes recommendations to security leaders as a Subject Matter Expert.

  • Performs periodic audits/reviews/hazard vulnerability analysis of security devices/equipment for evaluation of performance gaps, specifications, and expectations as directed by the Director of Security and/or Integrated Health Technology leadership.

  • Maintains and provides technical support for Security applications, PC operating systems, PC hardware / software, servers / server software, and related peripherals.

  • Knowledge and support of Active Directory tools including, but not limited to: group membership, creating groups, running scripts to move users, running scripts to create generic IDs, running scripts to set auto logon & lock down accounts to specific computer, basic understanding of GPO’s and software deployment, granting access to folders on computer for special software; creating new file shares & granting rights appropriately.

  • Required to use the SSM standard tracking system for incident and statistical reporting, change control items projects and requests. Communicates outstanding issues and status updates through appropriate channels, escalating unresolved issues when necessary. Maintains all hardware and software updates and upgrades in accordance with SSM IHT change control.

  • Keeps minutes of all meetings held and ensure follow up of any action items for completion and coordination on any new devices/equipment plus updates, repairs, expansions of existing security devices/equipment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Associates Degree in electrical engineering technologies or similar fields

EXPERIENCE

  • Four years' experience as a contract Systems Technician.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
