We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Cancer Registry Quality Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cancer registry's data system, ensuring compliance with national and state regulations, and contributing to the improvement of cancer care quality through detailed data analysis and reporting.

This position is a full-time, day position - core hours are Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.

Job Summary:

From a Regional Ministry perspective, is responsible for the completion and review of cancer abstracts for proper staging and coding of tumors. Trains and educates the trainees and registrars in the department. Performs audits and insures compliance with Commision on Cancer standards.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes all necessary audits to maintain compliance with American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer standards.

  • Updates and maintains the standard to ensure 95% accuracy for abstracting within the authorized timelines.

  • Maintains the Quality Control Plan for the Registry, including the Cancer Conference guidelines for compliance and auditing.

  • Trains and provides continuing education of CTR staff and monitors their certification maintenance.

  • Submits data monthly to the state and the annual submission of data to National Cancer database.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Associates degree in Applied Science or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Three years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
